Backgammon appeared, in Octopussy (1983), where Bond steps into a game in India, famously betting the Faberge Egg, but Backgammon has had strong links to the 007 universe for many years.

The new Backgammon Set features a high-quality leather board designed into a signature Globe-Trotter case. Inside, separate compartments have been created for the dice, counters and shakers so you can transport it with ease on your travels.

Vulcanised Fibreboard

The outer shell of the 007 Backgammon Box is constructed from Globe-Trotter’s signature Vulcanised Fibreboard. This material consists of 14 layers of recycled paper, cotton, and wood pulp, sourced from sustainable origins and bonded with zinc before being compressed with steam and pressure. The result is a shell that is exceptionally lightweight, resilient, and exclusive to Globe-Trotter.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

All external leather details, including the hand-moulded corners and trims, are crafted from premium vegetable-tanned hide leather. This leather is chosen for its strength, natural grain, and its ability to develop a distinguished patina over time. Vegetable tanning uses plant-based extracts and traditional processes to produce leather that is both elegant and robust.

Interior Lining and Game Surface

The interior and game playing surface are finished with soft, high-quality fabric. The lining is selected for its smoothness, durability, and refined look, providing an elegant setting for gameplay and accessory storage.

Game Components

The set includes bespoke playing pieces, dice, and other accessories, each housed in custom-fitted compartments. Components are crafted for precision and ease of use, with materials selected for their tactile quality and visual appeal.

Chrome Hardware and Combination Lock

This edition is fitted with polished chrome hardware, including a secure combination lock and reinforced corners. All hardware is chosen for its security, high shine, and enduring finish.

Special-Edition Branding

Features exclusive 007 and Globe-Trotter branding, with dual-embossed logos, special plaques, and edition-specific details that confirm authenticity and provenance.
