F1 2024 Insider's Guide No. 21 – Brazil

Famous as the home of Senna and a country that’s mad about motorsport, the São Paulo Grand Prix, formerly known as the Brazilian Grand Prix, traces its origins back to 1972. The legendary Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo is a mainstay of the Formula One® calendar and never fails to deliver drama. Additionally, this year there’s a Sprint race, which fans have been going wild for at other Grands Prix around the world.

It’s almost the end of another thrilling season, and the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team is set to make its final push in Brazil before Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi round out the 2024 campaign.

Brazil is a vast country, so don’t miss the Iguazu Falls, gorgeous beaches, the Amazon rainforest, and the modernist capital of Brasília during your visit.

Brazil’s Cities

From São Paulo to Brasília

After the race, São Paulo is all about parties and culture. The Tivoli Mofarrej is a wonderful place to escape the hubbub of São Paulo, with its understated interior decor, sublime service, and an unbeatable location in one of the city’s best districts. The Renaissance offers a dignified and sophisticated atmosphere with everything you need for a pampered stay. The JW Marriott provides exceptional comfort, style, and an unforgettable experience. The brand-new W Hotel, complete with a bar and dance floor, brings a vibrant edge to the city and is the place to be seen. L’Hotel Porto Bay is a 5-star boutique retreat featuring a wellness area, pool, and an excellent restaurant, moments from Avenida Paulista.

In brutalist Brasília, don’t miss the wonderfully retro Brasília Palace Hotel—an original mid-century hotel paying tribute to Oscar Niemeyer’s architectural genius. While you're there, be sure to visit the stunning Congress Building and Cathedral.

Belmond Copacabana Palace is an iconic and celebrated place to enjoy the city, known for its rich history, elegance, fine dining, and afternoon teas. For glitz, the JW Marriott is a fantastic option, with everything you need and plenty of wow factor. The Sheraton Grand offers beach access, a pool, and numerous amenities, allowing you to take in the city’s dramatic coastal scenery, where jagged green cliffs tumble into the sea. The renowned Hotel Nacional is a modernist monument along the shoreline. Meanwhile, the Grand Hyatt boasts a pool and spa in the vibrant Tijuca district.

The Joy Of The Journey

Head to Uruguay

Small but stunning, Uruguay will captivate you with its tranquillity, safety, cleanliness, friendly locals, and exceptional design. Stay at the Hotel Montevideo, a stylish retreat near the capital’s key sights, such as the famous tower and Old Town. The Hyatt Centric, located by the beaches, is modern, clean, and classy. The Sofitel stands proudly on the seafront, serving as a famous symbol of the city. SORO, a trendy boutique choice, has plenty to offer. In the rolling countryside, try LUZ—a luxury winery, restaurant with rooms, tennis courts, and the most relaxing atmosphere you can imagine. Check out the surf beaches and the millionaires’ mansions along the coast, and finish your day with tango shows and grilled beef in the evenings.
