Bringing together Globe-Trotter’s heritage of British craftsmanship with Abercrombie & Kent’s pioneering spirit of exploration, the Sundowner Trunk reimagines one of safari’s most enduring traditions: the sundowner, a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate the day’s discoveries as the African landscape transitions from day to dusk.
The Art of the Sundowner
Since Geoffrey Kent founded Abercrombie & Kent’s first safari in Kenya in 1962, the sundowner has represented a defining moment of the safari experience. A time to gather beneath the African sky, share stories and reflect on the journey so far.
The Sundowner Trunk brings this ritual to life through Globe-Trotter craftsmanship, creating a considered companion for these moments of connection and discovery.
Designed to hold the essentials of the safari sundowner, the trunk features bespoke compartments for glassware, bar tools and spirits, combining practical function with refined detailing.
Crafted in Hertfordshire
Handcrafted in Globe-Trotter’s Hertfordshire workshop, the Sundowner Trunk reflects more than a century of specialist craftsmanship.
Crafted in oak and finished with Globe-Trotter’s signature Vulcanised Fibreboard exterior, each detail has been carefully considered. Leather straps and corner detailing draw inspiration from the iconic Globe-Trotter Centenary Collection, paired with polished brass hardware that echoes the timeless character of Globe-Trotter’s most enduring designs.
Inside, twenty-two leather-lined compartments and a full-width drawer are precisely fitted to house cocktail glasses, tumblers, wine and spirits, tiffin trays and bar accessories. The interior lid is finished in ivory Vulcanised Fibreboard and features a screen-printed Globe-Trotter and Abercrombie & Kent insignia, marking a collaboration built around shared values of exploration, craftsmanship and enduring design.
