Introducing a colourful new collaboration with the legendary British fashion designer.
This month, Globe-Trotter will unveil a brand new trolley case created in collaboration with venerable British fashion brand Paul Smith. A limited-edition run of just 120 cases has been made in a nod to Globe-Trotter’s recent 120th anniversary.
Renowned for a playful aesthetic and impeccable eye for detail, Sir Paul Smith has added his trademark colourful Artist Stripe to the trolley case handles and inner straps. The chic navy fibreboard body is broken up by vibrant leather corners; the individual colours taken from the Artist Stripe palette.
‘With Globe-Trotter, there’s not much you can do to the actual case, because it’s so perfect,’ said Sir Paul Smith of the collaboration. ‘What I wanted to do was add my colours to it.’
In an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, Smith took a tour of the Globe-Trotter factory to get first-hand experience of how the trolley case is made using traditional methods and machinery. ‘Lots of the elements are still manufactured by eye,’ he said ‘which is amazing.’
The Paul Smith for Globe-Trotter Trolley Case will make its debut at this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan (17–22 April) and will be available through Paul Smith and Globe-Trotter; paulsmith.com/uk
The collection will be available from Thursday 19th April, 2018 online at globe-trotter.com and in the Globe-Trotter flagship stores at 35 Albemarle Street, London W1S 4JD, UK and 5-2-1 Ginza, Chuo-Ku, Tokyo, Japan and also available to buy from Harrods, London.
