Shades Of Cool - GLOBE-TROTTER

The adventures of 1960s air stewardess Hilary Farish continue to inspire Globe-Trotter designer Charlotte Seddon with the latest Propellor Collection.

When Seddon discovered the original Globe-Trotter suitcase in the company archives, she was delighted to find the inside was covered in vintage travel stickers collected by the former British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) stewardess from luxury hotels all over the world. The pattern naturally formed by the stickers was replicated for Globe-Trotter’s main spring/summer 2017 collection and became the backbone of the entire campaign.

Although many of the retro stickers were vibrant and colourful in design, Seddon has picked out blush tones of pale pink and grey to use for the new Propellor collection, which sits alongside the traditional Globe-Trotter suitcases as a complementary range of luxury leather bags and travel accessories, handmade in the company’s Hertfordshire factory.

‘This season’s range comes in subtle tones of pastel pink and cool grey, with a clean and minimal aesthetic,’ says Seddon of the collection. ‘There are shape similarities between the stickers and products such as the Circle bag, which reflects the simple, circular design of many of the travel labels. My favourite piece from the collection is the new Barrel bag. It’s chic, sporty and perfect for summer.’
