The Orient London Square is a bold expression of Globe-Trotter’s heritage in a compact, contemporary form. Designed as a structured cross-body bag, it combines precision craftsmanship with the enduring romance of the golden age of travel.

Handcrafted in England, the case is constructed from vulcanised fibreboard and finished in Urushi lacquer, a revered Japanese technique that involves applying multiple layers of natural sap by hand. The result is a rich, high-gloss finish that subtly transforms in the light, making each piece distinct in tone and depth. Burgundy leather trim and polished gold fittings complete the silhouette with warmth and refinement.

Inside, a soft chamel lining provides an elegant backdrop for your daily essentials. Compact yet striking, it’s ideal for carrying a wallet, phone and small personal items in style. The adjustable shoulder strap allows for a comfortable cross-body fit while maintaining the bag’s sculptural profile.

Vulcanised Fibreboard

The main structure is made from Globe-Trotter’s proprietary Vulcanised Fibreboard, comprising 14 layers of recycled paper, cotton, and wood pulp from sustainable sources. Bonded with zinc and compressed with steam and pressure, this material is chosen for its exceptional lightness, strength, and distinctive character. It offers lasting protection and a refined finish unique to Globe-Trotter.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

All leather elements, including the hand-moulded corners, trims, handles and fastening details, are made from vegetable-tanned hide. This traditional tanning method uses only natural plant extracts to create leather of exceptional strength and character. Over time, it develops a rich patina, ensuring that every case becomes ever more individual with each journey.

Ethical Sourcing

All leather is ethically sourced, ensuring traceability and a commitment to animal welfare and environmentally responsible production.

Handles and Strap

Both the top handle and the crossbody strap are made from reinforced vegetable-tanned leather, carefully bonded and hand-finished for comfort and longevity.

Lining

The interior is lined with finely woven cotton or a cotton-blend fabric, selected for its softness, durability, and ability to complement the bag’s exterior palette.

Locks and Hardware

Hardware, including the clasp and strap fittings, is precision-engineered from carbon steel or solid brass and finished in gold, chrome, or other signature tones. Each component is selected for refined appearance and long-term performance.

Serial Plaque

Every bag includes a unique, individually numbered metal plaque inside. This plaque certifies authenticity and provides a permanent record of provenance.
