The Centenary London Square is a distinctive accessory that reimagines the spirit of Globe-Trotter’s iconic luggage into an elegant, structured handbag. Handcrafted in England, this cross-body case captures the artistry and charm of a classic suitcase silhouette, made for those who appreciate timeless British design in everyday form.

Its bold square profile is crafted from our signature vulcanised fibreboard in a rich green tone, beautifully complemented by vegetable-tanned brown leather corners, handle and strap. Polished gold fittings add a subtle note of opulence, while the overall construction balances vintage-inspired design with contemporary functionality.

A detachable and adjustable leather shoulder strap allows the piece to be worn cross-body or carried by hand, making it a versatile choice for city days, weekends away, or simply as a statement accessory. Inside, the soft fabric-lined interior offers space for everyday essentials, thoughtfully enclosed in a compact yet eye-catching design.

Vulcanised Fibreboard

The main structure is made from Globe-Trotter’s proprietary Vulcanised Fibreboard, comprising 14 layers of recycled paper, cotton, and wood pulp from sustainable sources. Bonded with zinc and compressed with steam and pressure, this material is chosen for its exceptional lightness, strength, and distinctive character. It offers lasting protection and a refined finish unique to Globe-Trotter.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

All leather elements, including the hand-moulded corners, trims, handles and fastening details, are made from vegetable-tanned hide. This traditional tanning method uses only natural plant extracts to create leather of exceptional strength and character. Over time, it develops a rich patina, ensuring that every case becomes ever more individual with each journey.

Ethical Sourcing

All leather is ethically sourced, ensuring traceability and a commitment to animal welfare and environmentally responsible production.

Handles and Strap

Both the top handle and the crossbody strap are made from reinforced vegetable-tanned leather, carefully bonded and hand-finished for comfort and longevity.

Lining

The interior is lined with finely woven cotton or a cotton-blend fabric, selected for its softness, durability, and ability to complement the bag’s exterior palette.

Locks and Hardware

Hardware, including the clasp and strap fittings, is precision-engineered from carbon steel or solid brass and finished in gold, chrome, or other signature tones. Each component is selected for refined appearance and long-term performance.

Serial Plaque

Every bag includes a unique, individually numbered metal plaque inside. This plaque certifies authenticity and provides a permanent record of provenance.
