The Steamer Home Trunk in Green and Brown draws on one of Globe-Trotter’s most recognisable heritage palettes. Understated and assured, it reinterprets the classic steamer trunk as a made-to-order piece for the home, designed to bring craftsmanship, storage and quiet permanence into considered interiors.
Handcrafted in England, this luxury storage trunk is constructed from Globe-Trotter’s signature vulcanised fibreboard and finished with brown leather details and gold-tone hardware. The deep green exterior and warm brown accents create a grounded, timeless character that sits naturally within living spaces, dressing rooms, bedrooms and studies.
Designed to hold the objects of everyday life with elegance, the Steamer Home Trunk offers generous storage for cashmere, linens, books and collected possessions. Its reinforced lid supports everyday use within the home, allowing the trunk to become both a practical storage piece and a distinctive expression of travel heritage.
Inside, the trunk is lined with a finely woven fabric inspired by traditional British tailoring, lending structure and quiet refinement to the piece. A removable wooden tray, wrapped in the same high-quality woven lining used in Globe-Trotter suitcases, provides a beautifully ordered place for smaller belongings, echoing the craftsmanship and attention to detail found inside the brand’s travel cases.

Vulcanised Fibreboard
Each case is made from Globe-Trotter’s proprietary Vulcanised Fibreboard, composed of 14 layers of recycled paper, cotton, and wood pulp from sustainable forests. The layers are bonded with zinc and compressed using steam and pressure. This results in a material that is exceptionally lightweight and strong, offering durability for a lifetime of travel while remaining easy to carry. We use this material for its unique balance of strength and lightness, which is exclusive to Globe-Trotter.
Vegetable-Tanned Leather
All leather elements, including the hand-moulded corners, trims, handles and fastening details, are made from vegetable-tanned hide. This traditional tanning method uses only natural plant extracts to create leather of exceptional strength and character. Over time, it develops a rich patina, ensuring that every case becomes ever more individual with each journey.
Ethical Sourcing
All leathers are ethically sourced. We partner only with suppliers who uphold high standards of animal welfare and environmental responsibility. This ensures full traceability and a commitment to sustainable production.
Internal Tray and Compartments
The interior features a removable wooden tray, complete with a structured handle and reinforced supports, combining practical organisation with refined craftsmanship.
Handles
Handles are constructed from a blend of bonded leather and reinforcement materials, pressed for 48 hours before hand assembly. This method provides both comfort in the hand and long-term durability, making every journey effortless.
Lining
The interior is lined with a finely woven cotton or cotton-blend fabric, selected for its soft touch, strength, and complementary aesthetic.
Locks and Hardware
Locks and hardware are precision-engineered from carbon steel or solid brass, then finished in gold, chrome, or signature tones. Each piece is chosen for its security, durability, and ease of use.
